The Dreamer

Raphaël, a one-eyed man nearing 60, serves as the caretaker of a deserted mansion, living with his mother in a small house on the estate. His daily routine revolves around mole hunting, bagpipe practice, and occasional trips in the postwoman’s van. However, everything changes when Garance, the mansion’s heiress, returns on a stormy night, altering the course of his life forever
Director
Anaïs Tellenne, is a French writer and director with a background in dance and acting. She began her filmmaking career with the short film June 19 (2016), followed by Le mal bleu (Arte) in collaboration with Raphaël Thiéry. She then directed Modern Jazz (France 2) and developed her debut feature The Dreamer, starring Emmanuelle Devos and Raphaël Thiéry. Anaïs co-wrote L’Engloutie with Louise Hémon and is set to direct Les Indépendants, a biopic about painter Mary Cassatt, in the U.S. in 2024.
