Vida’s Father is a dark comedy centered on the tensions within a family caught between past and present. France, Vida’s father, idolizes his own father, a hero of the partisan resistance, and declares war on a German supermarket chain that plans to demolish a statue of his father. Meanwhile, Vida, who is struggling to conceive with her husband Toni, is largely indifferent to the past and focused on her own issues. As France leads a quirky guerrilla campaign against the supermarket, Vida grows increasingly frustrated with his obsession. The film explores the absurdity of family conflicts and generational divides.
