We are happy to inform you that we are organizing a JAPANESE FILM FESTIVAL 2025 in association with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai at Goethe-Institut, 4, Rutland Gate 5th Street, Thousand Lights, Chennai – 600006. We will be presenting 5 feature films as per the schedule below.

minYuko Morimiya is a high school student and she lives with her stepfather Morimiya. Morimiyais her third father. Her mother, Rika, is a free-spirited person and has remarried several times. She disappeared from Yuko’s life at a certain point. Even though Yuko and her stepfather are not blood related, she is fully loved by her him.

Urara Sayama, a 17-year-old high school student, enjoys reading boy’s love manga and works part-time as a cashier. She meets 78-year-old Yuki Ichinoi, who buys a BL manga and becomes a fan. They form a friendship and take on challenges. A story about the friendship between a 17-year-old high school girl and a 75-year-old lady who met through BL manga.

Sousuke Aoyama is a college student who suffers painfully from the loss of his parents in a traffic accident. He meets Kozan Shinoda, a suibokuga (India-ink painting) artist, at an exhibition. Kozan becomes interested in Sousuke and surprisingly accepts him as his disciple. However, Kozan’s niece is dismissive of Sousuke and declares to compete with Sousuke for the “Kozan Award.” Although Sousuke seemed uninterested in painting at first, he gradually becomes drawn to it by each stroke he draws…

Hanako Haibara was born and raised in the city of Tokyo. After she gets dumped by her boyfriend, while in her late 20’s, she goes on blind dates to find a man to marry. Miki Tokioka was born in a province. She studied very hard and entered a prestigious university in Tokyo. She experienced difficult financial times, but she now works at an IT company. Due to a man, Hanako Haibara and Miki Tokioka meet each other.

Takano Masaya lives apart from his father Minoru and younger sister Haruka. His mother died when he was young. He works as a physical therapist at a hospital. One day, his father Minoru enters the hospital. Watching his father getting weaker and his patient’s condition worsening, Masaya feels a sense of helplessness. A new patient is admitted who suffered an injury during a rugby game. Masaya is impressed with his new patient as he lives his life hard. Masaya soon regains his enthusiasm for his work.
