The Russian House in Chennai and Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation successfully hosted the inauguration of the Days of Russian Movies dedicated to the 80ᵗʰ Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Alexander Dodonov, Director of the Russian House in Chennai, alongside Mr. Seenu Ramasamy, National Award-Winning Film Director. Mr. Sivan Kannan, President of the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, presided over the event, while Mr. Anandkumar Rengaswamy, Vice President of the Foundation, delivered the Welcome Address.

Renowned cine artiste Mrs. Poornima Bhagyaraj lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the official commencement of the celebrations. The event took place at 6 PM on 28th March 2025 at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (Russian House), 74, Kasturi Rangan Road, Alwarpet, Chennai – 600018.

The evening concluded with the screening of the inaugural film, “The Destiny of a Man” (Sudba cheloveka, 1959), directed by Sergey Bondarchuk, with a runtime of 103 minutes.
