Indhu Rebecca Varghese travels to New Delhi with her daughter, Arsheya, and her in-laws to receive the Ashoka Chakra, awarded posthumously to her husband, Mukund Varadarajan. Their love story began at Madras Christian College in Chennai, where Mukund encouraged Indhu to participate in a fashion show, leading to their romance. After overcoming family opposition, they married in 2009 and had Arsheya in 2011. Mukund served in the Indian Army, where he and his Counter Assault Team eliminated the terrorist Altaf Baba in 2013. Despite sustaining an injury during training, Mukund continued to serve, facing threats from another terrorist, Asif Wani. Indhu reflects on their journey filled with love, challenges, and Mukund’s heroism.
