Director
Jean-Claude Monod, a French filmmaker and philosopher, wrote his first feature script, Les Djinns, at 15, which reached the Victor Hugo Competition finals. A graduate of École Normale Supérieure, he earned the CNRS bronze medal in 2013. He worked as a third assistant director on Safi Faye’s Mossane (1996) and directed acclaimed short films like Le Zoographe (2006), which aired on France 3. Founder of Les Films du Possible, Monod co-directed Augustine (2012), widely praised and aired on Arte. Active in cinema and philosophy, he has been a festival jury member and acted in works by Jean Rouch and Alexandre Sokouro.
